The Official Site of Gold Star Siblings, Inc
501C3 Non-Profit Charitable Organization
Who we are:
Our founder is a Gold Star Sibling with 30+
years of dealing with the loss of her brother
and all the different feelings that we face
along the way.
She is freely using her experience and her
resources to help any sibling along the path
of healing. With the help of her friends and
family, they will do everything possible to
make this terrible loss, less unbearable, if
possible.
Who is a -Gold Star Sibling?-
There has been some misunderstanding of
what being a Gold Star Sibling is. A GSS
is any brother or sister who loses a brother
or sister to war. This Organization is not just
for siblings that had siblings killed in battle,
but also including siblings who have been
wounded and died/death by suicide or
death in any kind of accident. If the Sibling
is a veteran and we lose him/her you are a
Gold Star Sibling.
We have resources that we can put you in
contact with if they are so needed.
-Resources-
One of the best places for her to call is Military One Source at
1-800-342-9647. She needs to tell them that she is the mom of a
recently deceased soldier and she needs to speak with a counselor.
They have a "contracted" telephone counselor who will talk as long as
she needs and also assess her risk. They are free and are very good.
I called them as asked for help and they were excellent.
She must tell them she needs to speak with a counselor and they will
connect her 24/7...
Let me know if you need more.
